Dr. Sarah Gibson is a professional singer/actor with a passion for teaching. Favorite roles include Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard) at New Century Theater in Minneapolis, MN, Nettie Fowler (Carousel) at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA, Mrs. Wormwood (Matilda) at The Rose Theater in Omaha, NE, Signora Naccarelli (The Light in the Piazza) at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, St. Paul, MN, and Doatsy Mae (Best Little Whorehouse in Texas) featuring Sally Struthers, at Artistry Theater, Bloomington, MN. She previously worked as a teaching artist for the Disney Musicals in Schools program, and for The Rose Theater, specializing in musical theatre productions for young performers. As a teacher, Sarah engages each individual student to excel by focusing on the student’s unique attributes and identifying their points of power and points in need of strengthening. She is emphatic about creating a positive and supportive environment in lessons, as it is of utmost importance to her that students feel free to experiment and play. Step one: stay healthy! Step two: have fun! Step three: soar!

Teaching specialties include audition prep for musicals and plays, healthy belt technique, and acting the song. Sarah holds a B.A. in Music from Smith College, an M.A. in Musical Theater from New York University and a D.M.A. in Vocal Performance from the University of Minnesota.
